#5 | Major Changes & Plans
Hello!
I've made the decision to restart the project from the ground up, made easy by the fact I haven't had made much progress.
Recently, I decided to completely rewrite the game design document (GDD) to better fit the theme of traditional Humans versus Zombies (HvZ). The document is still a work in progress, you can find it linked here. Because I've currently rewriting this document, I'll need to restart the project from scratch. The first release version won't be based on the MVP project files, but brand new ones.
The biggest issue I've run into is not knowing how to build complex mechanics such as an inventory or quest system. YouTube tutorials can only help so much, and I don't like having to copy/paste code.
This is where free and paid assets come in. By reading their documentation, I can gain an understanding of how to use them and utilize my own scripts in conjunction with the assets to create complex mechanics. This greatly expands what I can build.
I don't have an estimate on when the first release version will be playable, as I'm busy with school and work. But I'll make an effort to post devlogs showcasing progress whatever progress I make.
